Storytelling performances, workshops, and educational programs for audiences of all ages.
Storytelling Performances
Terrell Shaw offers storytelling programs featuring folktales, family stories, personal narratives, ghost stories, tall tales, and humorous Southern yarns.
Programs may be tailored for children, families, adults, or mixed-age audiences and are available for festivals, libraries, schools, churches, senior communities, civic organizations, and community events.
"A true crowd-pleaser, Shaw's encore performance was nothing short of a thrilling spectacle."
— Johnny Thomas Fowler

Story Discovery Workshops
Stories are everywhere—in family memories, personal experiences, local history, and traditional tales. These workshops help participants discover, shape, and share stories that matter to them.
Workshop options range from Family Story Detective, a single-session introduction to discovering and collecting family stories, to the multi-session YoungTales Storytelling & Writing Program, which Terrell developed and led from 2015–2020 in a variety of educational settings, including public schools, private schools, libraries, and after-school programs.

"By learning how to be verbal storytellers, they became stronger storytellers as well as writers."
— Katie Chappell
Fifth Grade Teacher
Nature, Folklore & Imagination

Drawing on more than a decade as Storyteller/Naturalist at Arrowhead Environmental Education Center, these programs combine folklore, science, storytelling, and curiosity. Participants explore the natural world through stories, observation, and hands-on activities that encourage creative thinking and a sense of wonder.
One workshop model invites participants to study an animal adaptation and create an original "How Come?" story explaining it. Why does the possum have a naked tail? Why does Mr. Anole have two outfits? The answers may not be scientific—but the learning certainly is.
